Περιγραφή Μαθήματος

Scope of the module is to introduce students into the theory and applications of automation applications range from programmable logic controllers and industrial computers to human machine interface and industrial peripherals and drives Systems. All main types of Field Buses, Ethernet, Modbus, CanOpen, e.t.c. are studied, employing various teaching methods.

The students are required to implement a selection of laboratory experiments that cover all the main types of industrial networks, providing relative laboratory reports.

Furthermore, students are required to complete various assignments, dealing with simulating of Industrial Networks using specialized software, solving of problems and practical applications.

On successful completion of this module the student will be able to:

• Recognize and describe the Industrial network devices
• Explain the principles of Industrial network
• Explain in detail the basic functions of all types of Industrial Components
• Implement experiments in the laboratory and analyze their operation
• Simulate basic Industrial network
• Design simple industrial network system.
• Demonstrate the ability to use network topologies in various practical applications
• Collaborates with fellow students in project development
• Constructs simple Industrial network using the Lab equipment
