B) THE CREATIVE WRITING ASSIGNMENT

There are two possible forms:

i) A comic book script (about 700 words) accompanied with the actual comic pages. An example of how the script should be written is given in the documents (έγγραφα) section.

ii) An illustrated fairy tale (about 1200 words) with, at least, 3 illustrations. The in-class  presentation of the assignment is obligatory. For this assignment, if you prefer, you can work in pairs.

For further info about Creative Writing please check the documents  section.

C) THE TRANSLATION ASSIGNMENT

The Translation Assignment for this semester will not be guided. Those who wish to do one will come with their own proposals of authentic texts.

Each translation should be syntactically, grammatically and scientifically as correct Greek as possible. Translations by on-line services such as Google Translate, Systran etc. are of poor quality, easily detected, and will not be accepted. The assignment will be presented to the teacher of English during consultation hours.

The bonus for those who will take up an assignment is a 25% addition to the exams mark. Also, another 25% is granted if one is able to attend at least 9 out of 13 of the classes held (this is applicable to those who do not wish to write the assignment too).

For all kinds of assignments the work should be done either by each student separately or in pairs. Group works are not allowed.

If anyone has any suggestions as far as the topics are concerned, feel free to discuss them with me.
